Pembridge Villas
Woldon achieved Planning permission for the amalgamation and extension of this pair of Victorian townhouses to form a 10,000 sqft villa in Notting Hill.
A range of sensitive changes were proposed to tie the appearance of the two houses together as one. A substantial new front entrance with a porch was introduced, anchoring the two houses together as a villa. In the detail, a consistency was brought to the cornices, ironwork and windows to further enhance the sense of the whole. And in a redesigned front garden, the single access front drives were linked together to create an in-and-out carriage way.
Internally, the spaces were reconfigured to enjoy the new broad footprint. A central, top lit stairwell provided a focus around which the new room layout was organized, with a series of reception, music, library and entertaining spaces enjoying views of the front and rear gardens.
Further accommodation was provided in a large basement, lit from a new courtyard, housing a swimming pool complex, gym, vault and wine cellar.
